Like you I’m not a big fan of much contemporary art – my biggest challenge with it is that it lacks beauty and I feel that as creatives we can bring so much beauty and joy to the world. Why focus on the negative – there is already so much of that out there.

I am bored with depressing subjects in art as well. Additionally, I have health problems. I may have developed a more sensitive outlook on life because of my health, but I don’t think my art depends on or reflects that. Creating art gives me a release where the mind and body are free of burden; and has almost become a form of therapy.

It’s a aspect of art creation that is not rewarded or recognized enough, the role that it plays in our emotional and spiritual lives.
