I know of no other business that wants to make money but that can have such reservations about making, as if there is a conflict.

No money, no art supplies, no art. At minimum.

I like your notion that artists need to retain control of their lives. Still, many of my fine artist friends feel they are giving up too much time from their art into basic PR strategies. You suggest a good compromise here. I’ve talked a lot on my blog about artists empowering themselves to make money–using famous examples from the past. Making money from art doesn’t diminish your it–but rather strengthens your commitment by freeing your time for your art work.

It’s wonderful to come across someone with your philosophy. The “starving artist” attitude and the idea that artists somehow deserve to be subsidized is a terrible outlook on life. Thanks for helping people to find their own power.
