Anytime I see @aol.com (or similar) in the email I automatically question their credibility. Everything from beginning to end must convey professionalism, and at a certain pricing level this is mandatory before someone will consider spending their money with you.

You find other ways to add value without shooting yourself in the foot.

The art buyer is not too bothered that two paintings of the same size: A took four hours and B took four weeks or that the materials were more expensive on B etc. That you love one over the other is also unimportant. They must both have the same sale price. Factor in: National shipping costs, Export shipping to say Europe and the UK/USA. An artist cannot think as being either local or national. Art is a global market. And Art is yet another online commodity. Discounts? Yes to regular collectors, Yes to collect from the studio., Yes to a multiple purchase [as the shipping costs are similar]. Have a pricing & framing policy based on the inch square.
